Owned by the room

Nobody records quietly, and nobody has to babysit it

A recording belongs to the room, not to the person who pressed the button. It runs on the server, so the starter leaving changes nothing. Anyone still in the room can stop it, and when the room empties it stops on its own.

Can anything be recorded without people knowing?

Recording is off by default and has to be started by someone in the room. While it runs, the room and the people in it carry a recording indicator in every view of the office, and anyone in the room can stop it.

What happens if the person who started it leaves?

Nothing changes. The recording belongs to the room and runs on the server. It ends when someone stops it, or shortly after the room empties.

How is this different from Loom?

Loom records your own screen into a vendor's cloud. Remote Desk records a room's call, visibly, and files it with your team's other files. On a self-hosted deployment the recording never leaves your infrastructure.

Is recording included on every plan?

Yes. Plans differ in how many recording hours are included; see pricing for the limits.
