Model Context Protocol

Give your AI assistant a desk

Remote Desk speaks MCP, so an assistant can read your docs, search the tracker, log work and file items, using the same permissions you have and nothing more.

The flow
  1. Meet
  2. Capture
  3. Act

Connecting

Add it by URL, approve it in a browser

Paste the workspace URL into your MCP client and a browser window opens. If you are already signed in, you approve the connection and you are done. There is no API key to generate, paste, rotate or accidentally commit.

  • Browser sign-in and approval, so no password lands in a config file
  • The assistant receives a scoped token, not your credentials
  • Revoke the connection later without changing your password

What it can do

The work, not just the chat

The tools cover what a teammate would actually be asked to do: find the item, read the page, log the hours, file the bug with the right project and status. An assistant that can only talk about work is a demo. This one changes it.

  • Tracker: search, create, transition, assign, link and log time
  • Docs: search spaces, read pages, create and update them
  • Attach a doc to a work item, or turn a doc into items

Boundaries

It inherits your permissions, not more

An agent acts as you, so it is subject to exactly the same permission checks. It cannot read a private space you cannot read, and its changes show up under your name in each item's history, so where something came from is never a mystery.

  • Scoped to the permissions of the person who approved it
  • Organisation boundaries apply to agents identically
  • Changes attributed to you in the item's activity

FAQ

Questions about AI agents

Something else on your mind? Write to hello@remotedesk.space.

Which clients does this work with?

Anything that speaks the Model Context Protocol, which includes Claude and a growing set of editors and agent frameworks. You add it by URL rather than by installing something specific to Remote Desk.

Do I need to give it my password?

No, and you cannot. The connection is approved in a browser session you are already signed into, and the agent receives a scoped token rather than credentials.

Can an agent see things I cannot?

No. It acts with your permissions. If a space is closed to you, it is closed to your assistant.

Is this the same as the AI features inside the product?

It is the other direction. The AI workspace and AI minutes bring models into Remote Desk; MCP lets an assistant outside Remote Desk reach in. Teams often use both.
