Stay on the call, anywhere

Keep the call floating while the rest of your work fills the screen

Pop a call into a compact picture-in-picture window and it follows you everywhere — open a doc, check the board, glance at another room. You don't have to choose between being on the call and getting things done.

Float and follow

The call rides along while you work elsewhere

Detach the call into a floating window and it stays put as you move through the app — docs, tasks, the tracker, or a different room on the floor. The conversation keeps going while your full screen goes to whatever you're actually doing.

  • Compact, always-on-top call window
  • Stays put as you navigate anywhere in the app
  • Audio and video keep running — no reconnecting

Work the decision live

Open the doc the call is about — without leaving it

Half of every meeting is reaching for the thing you're discussing. With the call floating, you can pull up the doc, update a task, or check a sprint while the people who care are right there in the corner of your screen.

  • Edit docs and tasks without dropping the call
  • Capture decisions the moment they're made
  • No tab-switching dance to find what you're talking about

Watch the share while you do

Keep a screen share visible as you follow along

Pin a presenter's screen share in the floating window and follow the walkthrough in your own workspace at the same time. You can replicate a setup or take notes against what they're showing without losing the demo.

  • Keep a screen share in view while you work
  • Follow a walkthrough hands-on, step for step
  • Glance back at the room without switching screens

I used to mirror my laptop to a second monitor just so I could keep a call up while I worked. Now the call floats over whatever I'm doing — I'm fixing the bug we're talking about while we're talking about it. It quietly removed a whole category of context-switching.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What can I do while the call is in picture-in-picture?
Anything in the app — open and edit docs, update the tracker, move between rooms on the floor, or browse another area entirely. The floating window keeps your audio and video live the whole time, so you stay on the call without it owning your screen.
Does the call stay connected when I navigate away?
Yes. The session is hoisted above your navigation, so moving around the app never drops or reconnects the call. The picture-in-picture window is the same live call, just compact and floating.
Can I keep a screen share in the floating window?
Yes. You can keep a presenter's screen share visible in the floating window and follow along hands-on in your own workspace at the same time.
Is picture-in-picture included on every plan?
Yes. It's a built-in part of the calling experience on every plan, including Free — there's nothing extra to enable or pay for.
Does it work self-hosted?
Yes. The floating call runs on the same self-hostable LiveKit media pipeline as the rest of your audio and video, so it works identically on self-hosted deployments.
